Member-led groups that develop shared methods and position the industry ahead of formal standardisation, from recycled carbon fibre to biochar carbon removal.

Engineered carbon only becomes a dependable industrial input when buyers can trust what they are buying. A graphene powder, a carbon fibre tow and a biochar batch can each carry the same name and behave completely differently, and that ambiguity is the single biggest brake on adoption across the sector. The Advanced Carbons Council maintains a working library of the international standards that define, measure and certify carbon materials, tracks the committees where those standards are written, and convenes industry task forces to close the gaps that remain. Our aim is straightforward: a shared language and a verifiable basis for quality, so that specification, procurement and regulation can all rest on the same evidence.
