Clasping folds enhance elastic strength of graphene films
Researchers developed graphene oxide films with enhanced elastic strength using a fold-clasping lamellar structure.
Researchers have developed a novel theranostic wearable hydrogel dressing that leverages laser-induced graphene (LIG) for enhanced treatment and monitoring of dermatophytosis. The hydrogel, named LIG + ITZ@PCS, combines LIG with itraconazole (ITZ) to provide synergistic antifungal therapy and real-time monitoring capabilities. The cationic surface of LIG (+43.1 mV) targets fungal capture, while sunlight exposure triggers a mild photothermal effect around 45°C, facilitating controlled ITZ release.
The dual-action approach, combining photothermal therapy and ITZ, effectively disrupts Trichophyton rubrum biofilms and induces ferroptosis, leading to eradication without recurrence in murine models. The conductive properties of the LIG network enable real-time tracking of fungal load via smartphone-based voltage signal monitoring.
Additionally, the LIG + ITZ@PCS hydrogel modulates the immune microenvironment, integrating low-temperature phototherapy, immunotherapy, and real-time sensing into a comprehensive platform for managing dermatophytosis.
