Argo Graphene marks milestone test pour and launches second graphene concrete project

Argo Graphene Solutions Corp. has successfully completed its initial test pour of graphene-enhanced concrete in Bristol, Tennessee. This milestone marks a significant advancement in the use of graphene to improve concrete performance. The first pour involved three slabs covering 12.5 cubic meters, with a subsequent pour planned to cover 15 cubic meters across two larger slabs. These projects aim to showcase the capabilities of Argo's proprietary graphene formula, which enhances concrete strength, reduces cracking, and lowers the environmental impact compared to traditional concrete mixes.

Graphene, a single layer of carbon atoms, significantly enhances concrete by reinforcing the cement matrix, filling microscopic voids, and improving particle dispersion. Even at low concentrations, graphene can increase compressive, tensile, and flexural strength by up to 30%, while also reducing porosity for better crack resistance. These improvements position graphene-infused concrete as a promising material for sustainable infrastructure.

To validate these enhancements, Argo will conduct compressive strength tests on cylinder samples from both pours at various intervals, following ASTM C39 standards. Preliminary results from the first pour indicate notable improvements in tensile strength and workability, with comprehensive results forthcoming.
