Beyond Gravity doubles CFRP satellite dispenser output in Sweden

Beyond Gravity (Zurich, Switzerland) has expanded its satellite dispenser manufacturing facility in Linköping, Sweden. The site now includes a new production hall equipped with a high-precision milling machine for carbon fiber and aluminum dispenser structures. Starting in October 2026, this expansion will enable the production of 192 dispenser modules annually, doubling the current capacity. Amazon Leo is the primary customer for these dispensers.

Satellite dispensers are crucial for holding satellites in place during launch and releasing them into orbit in a specific sequence. As satellite constellations move towards mass production, Beyond Gravity has adapted its dispensers to meet the demand for series production. The expanded facility's capacity of 192 modules per year aligns with approximately 48 flights, depending on the configuration.

The new production hall increases the Linköping facility's area from 12,600 square meters to about 15,000 square meters. The milling machine processes carbon fiber and aluminum with high precision, ensuring tight tolerances and accurate drilling for assembly. The Linköping site currently employs 350 people.

In 2022, Amazon (Seattle, Wash., U.S.) awarded Beyond Gravity its largest contract to design and manufacture custom dispenser systems for Amazon Leo, a low-Earth orbit broadband network. Beyond Gravity has been the exclusive dispenser provider for Amazon Leo, deploying 396 satellites to date using dispensers from Linköping. These dispensers are compatible with launch vehicles from Arianespace, United Launch Alliance, Blue Origin, and SpaceX. The expansion aims to match the dispenser supply with Amazon Leo's deployment schedule, which is described as the third-largest satellite constellation in operation.

Beyond Gravity's dispenser systems have released approximately 1,700 satellites into orbit, supporting programs like the Galileo navigation constellation, TerraBella, Canadian Radarsat, and Eutelsat OneWeb internet constellations.
