Canatu has appointed Walter Braun as Chief Technology Officer and Bernd Meier as Chief Marketing Officer, effective September 1, 2026. These appointments aim to enhance Canatu's capabilities in scaling the production and commercialization of its carbon nanotube technologies, crucial for its applications in the semiconductor and medical diagnostics industries.

Canatu Plc has announced the appointment of Walter Braun as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Bernd Meier as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), effective September 1, 2026. These appointments aim to enhance Canatu's executive leadership team, aligning technology and market strategies to drive product development and commercial execution.

Walter Braun, with over 20 years of experience in industrial automation and advanced manufacturing systems, will lead the advancement and industrialization of Canatu's technology. His previous roles at Scrona AG, SÜSS MicroTec SE, Manz AG, and Homag Machinery Shanghai have equipped him with the expertise to scale high-complexity production environments and drive organizational transformation.

Bernd Meier, bringing 25 years of experience in sales and product management within the semiconductor and industrial technology sectors, will oversee sales, marketing, and business development. His recent role at Teradyne Robotics involved defining global strategies and expanding market share, skills he will now apply to Canatu's growth initiatives.

Canatu, a deep technology scaleup, specializes in advanced carbon nanotubes (Canatu CNTs) and related products for industries including semiconductor, robotics, and medical diagnostics. The company's CNT membranes are crucial for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) processes in semiconductor manufacturing, while its electrochemical sensors are under development for medical diagnostics. Canatu's patented CNT reactors and dry deposition method ensure high-quality CNT production.

Headquartered in Finland, Canatu operates globally with offices in the US, Japan, and Taiwan. The company was founded in 2004 as a spin-off from Aalto University’s Nanomaterials Group and currently employs 185 individuals from over 35 nationalities.
