GMG launches new graphene water coolant additive for data centres

Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd. (TSX-V: GMG) (OTCQX: GMGMF) has introduced G FLUID™, a graphene-enhanced water-based additive designed to improve heat transfer and reduce microbial growth in data center and industrial cooling systems. The global market for cooling water treatment chemicals is projected to grow from US$15 billion in 2026 to US$27.2 billion by 2035, with a compound annual growth rate of 6.1%. G FLUID™ is used as a 1:100 concentrate, where 1 liter of the additive is mixed with 100 liters of coolant.

Preliminary internal testing indicates that G FLUID™ can enhance heat transfer rates by approximately 20% when added to demineralized water at a 1% concentration, resulting in a final solution containing 0.01% graphene by weight. Additionally, independent third-party laboratory tests have demonstrated up to 87% effectiveness in reducing microbial growth, as per the EN 1276 standard.

Craig Nicol, Managing Director and CEO of GMG, stated that G FLUID™ allows operators of data centers, industrial plants, and buildings to enhance the heat transfer capabilities of their existing cooling systems with a simple 1% dose. The product also helps in reducing microbial growth, which is crucial for managing corrosion and maintenance costs in chiller systems. GMG is initially targeting data centers due to their rapidly growing cooling demands, but the product is also applicable to industrial and building chiller systems.

Jack Perkowski, Chairman and Director of GMG, noted that G FLUID™ is GMG's fourth energy-saving product, complementing THERMAL-XR® and G® LUBRICANT. This positions GMG in the fast-growing cooling water treatment market, which is expanding alongside AI-driven data center construction.

In regulatory news, GMG has submitted an amendment application to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to gain approval for manufacturing and selling graphene and its products, including G FLUID™, in the United States. The company anticipates receiving EPA approval by September 2027, without affecting the current conditions for THERMAL-XR® sales in the U.S.
