GMG signs MOU to develop graphene products with Alstom for rail industry

Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSXV: GMG) (OTCQX: GMGMF) has signed a global exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Alstom (EPA: ALO) to test and develop graphene products for the rail industry's Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
Craig Nicol, CEO and Managing Director of GMG, stated that the partnership with Alstom provides an opportunity to integrate graphene technology into the rail sector, which demands high standards of performance and efficiency. The collaboration aims to leverage graphene's properties to enhance various applications within the rail industry.
Jack Perkowski, Non-Executive Chairman and Director of GMG, highlighted the significance of the MOU with Alstom, a leader in global transportation infrastructure. This partnership is seen as a validation of GMG's technology and capabilities, potentially opening new revenue streams and reinforcing GMG's strategy to target established industries where graphene can have a tangible impact.
Alstom, a major player in the rail sector, is dedicated to making rail a cornerstone of sustainable transportation. The company offers a wide range of solutions, from high-speed trains to digital rail systems, and operates in 61 countries with 87,800 employees. Alstom reported revenues of €19.2 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.
GMG, based in Australia, focuses on developing energy-saving and energy storage solutions using graphene produced through its proprietary process. This process decomposes natural gas into carbon (graphene), hydrogen, and residual gases, yielding high-quality, low-cost graphene suitable for various applications.
The company's current focus includes scaling up commercial capabilities and securing market applications. GMG is marketing graphene-enhanced HVAC coatings for energy savings and has developed a graphene lubricant additive aimed at reducing fuel consumption in diesel engines. In the energy storage sector, GMG is working with the University of Queensland on graphene aluminum-ion batteries and has developed a graphene additive slurry to improve lithium-ion battery performance.
