Danish Graphene, founded in 2020 and based in Vejle, Denmark, focuses on scalable production of functional graphene products. These products enhance the performance of adhesives, coatings, and batteries by integrating with industrially relevant materials. The company operates with laboratories, production, and office space under one roof, collaborating with key industry players to develop enhanced solutions that improve existing products.

Danish Graphene recently collaborated with West Hill Capital to secure a seed funding round of GBP 2.5 million. Initiated in May 2023, the funding round was oversubscribed within 24 hours, reflecting strong investor interest. Andreas Brunsgaard Laursen, Co-founder and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the new investors and the opportunity to expand the company's reach in the graphene market.

The funding will support Danish Graphene in scaling its competencies, capabilities, and production capacity. The company is launching a graphene-enhanced thermal management solution for the space industry, developed during its incubation at ESA BIC Denmark. This thermal adhesive, designed to remove heat from critical electronic components in satellites, has attracted interest from hardware manufacturers across Europe, Asia, and the United States.

Andreas Brunsgaard Laursen noted the space industry's eagerness to adopt new technologies, highlighting the potential benefits of improved performance and weight reduction. Danish Graphene aims to commercialize this thermal adhesive and expand its portfolio of graphene-based thermal management solutions for space electronics. These innovations could also enhance everyday electronics and contribute to advancements in space exploration.

The Greek Space Tech Forum 2026 (GSTF26) in Athens, Greece, marked the 5th anniversary of ESA Business Incubation Centres. Between May and June 2026, the European Space Agency inaugurated two new ESA BICs in Portugal, further expanding its support for space-related startups. Additionally, the ESA BIC Castilla-La Mancha was inaugurated in June 2026, and the EBAN Congress in Lithuania brought together representatives from ESA's ScaleUp business support services.
