Hexcel highlights production readiness and new innovations at CAMX 2026
Hexcel launched HRH-10, a honeycomb core material qualified by NCAMP, at CAMX 2026, aiming to streamline development time and costs for aerospace manufacturers.
Hexcel Corporation showcased its advancements in carbon materials at the 2026 Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX) in Atlanta, Georgia. The company emphasized its commitment to supporting increased production rates in commercial aerospace and investing in future materials and technologies for aircraft, defense systems, and space platforms. Hexcel's booth facilitated numerous discussions with customers, suppliers, and industry partners throughout the event.
Marc Gomez, Director of Customer Business Teams at Hexcel, noted the consistent focus of conversations on sustaining production ramp-ups and future aircraft applications. Hexcel's advanced materials play a crucial role across commercial aerospace, defense, and space markets, and the company made several product announcements during the expo.
Hexcel introduced the industry's first NCAMP-qualified honeycomb core material, HRH-10, and unveiled a new vented version of its Flex-Core metallic honeycomb for space launch applications. Additionally, Hexcel highlighted the U.S. production of its HexPly M901 fast-cure prepreg system, which supports high-rate manufacturing environments with rapid cure cycles.
Imad Atallah, Vice President of Aerospace Commercial Growth and Product Management, emphasized the priority of supporting the commercial aerospace rate ramp while investing in new material technologies. The NCAMP qualification of HRH-10 provides a shared database and certification framework, aiding aircraft manufacturers in reducing development time and costs.
The vented Flex-Core metallic honeycomb addresses pressure differential challenges in space launch applications, enhancing the structural support of launch vehicles and spacecraft. HexPly M901's fast-cure capability makes it suitable for applications requiring speed and automation, now with expanded production in Salt Lake City.
Supply chain resilience was another key topic, with customers increasingly prioritizing domestic manufacturing capabilities and transparency. Hexcel's vertically integrated footprint in the U.S. and Europe supports reliable supply chains across commercial aerospace, defense, and space sectors.
Michael Gleason, Director of Product Management, Matrix & Composite Materials, discussed Hexcel's strategy of vertical integration, which supports increased composite adoption and supply chain reliability. This strategy is vital as the industry prepares for future platforms demanding higher production rates and faster innovation cycles.
Gleason highlighted investments in research and development, manufacturing centers of excellence, and customer support capabilities to accelerate material adoption. Hexcel's integrated approach connects material development, manufacturing, and customer support, creating value for customers as new aerospace programs emerge.
Hexcel's participation at CAMX, including product announcements, customer meetings, and technical presentations, underscored its readiness to meet production commitments and advance aerospace innovation. Imad Atallah expressed appreciation for the strong interest in Hexcel's technologies and the opportunity to engage with the composites community.
