HydroGraph and Western International sign agreements
HydroGraph USA has signed agreements with Western International to construct, own, and operate a new commercial-scale graphene manufacturing facility. This development is significant for the graphene sector as it enhances production capacity, potentially lowering costs and increasing availability for various applications.
HydroGraph Clean Power Inc. has announced agreements with Western International Gas & Cylinders, Inc. to secure acetylene gas supply and lease land for a new graphene production facility in Bellville, Texas. HydroGraph USA Inc., a subsidiary of HydroGraph, will purchase acetylene from Western International via pipeline for an initial ten-year term. Acetylene is the primary feedstock for HydroGraph’s Hyperion Reactors, which produce ultra-pure Fractal Graphene™.
The agreements include a Ground Lease Agreement for land at Western International’s Bellville facility, where HydroGraph will build its commercial-scale graphene manufacturing site. This facility will utilize Western International’s acetylene infrastructure, including a dedicated pipeline, to ensure continuous and reliable graphene production.
HydroGraph's CEO, Kjirstin Breure, emphasized the importance of these agreements in meeting global demand for ultra-pure graphene. Western International, as a major acetylene supplier, provides the necessary infrastructure for HydroGraph's large-scale manufacturing needs.
The Bellville facility will produce Fractal Graphene™ with a 99.8% carbon content, serving industries such as composites and energy storage. HydroGraph plans to install six Hyperion Reactors initially, with the capacity to expand production as market demand grows.
Construction is expected to start after permitting, with the facility opening in the first half of 2027. The site will initially cover 40,000 square feet, with plans to expand to 80,000 square feet, supporting a production capacity of up to 750 tons per year.
HydroGraph is also installing Hyperion Reactors at its Austin headquarters for development purposes, adding 30 tons per year of production capacity. These efforts highlight HydroGraph’s commitment to establishing a domestic graphene supply chain in the U.S.
