HydroGraph signs 10-year acetylene deal with Western International

HydroGraph Clean Power and Western International Gas & Cylinders have entered into a 10-year agreement for the supply of acetylene gas, essential for HydroGraph’s graphene production. The facility, to be located in Bellville, Texas, will utilize acetylene as the primary feedstock for its Hyperion Reactors, which convert hydrocarbons into pure synthetic graphene.

Under the terms of the agreement, HydroGraph will receive acetylene via pipeline from Western International, with options for renewal after the initial term. The companies have also signed a lease for land at Western International’s Bellville site, which will host HydroGraph’s new manufacturing facility.

HydroGraph CEO Kjirstin Breure emphasized the significance of the agreement, highlighting Western International's capabilities in large-scale feedstock production and operational expertise. Brian Renouf, president of Western International, noted that the pipeline connection and supply agreement establish a strong foundation for the domestic production of advanced materials.

The new facility is projected to cover approximately 3,700 square meters, with an estimated construction cost of US$5 million. HydroGraph aims for a production capacity of up to 325 tonnes of Fractal Graphene annually. The site is slated to open in the first half of 2027.
