Toray Industries will present its advanced carbon material capabilities at the Farnborough International Airshow from July 20–24. Representatives from Europe, North America, and Asia will showcase Toray's global expertise and dedication to the aerospace, space, and defense sectors.
Celebrating its centenary, Toray emphasizes its commitment to providing advanced material solutions that meet current and future demands in aerospace, space, and defense applications. This commitment includes enhancing secure supply chains and expanding production capacity to support key global markets.
Toray's product portfolio features TORAYCA carbon fiber, high-performance thermoset systems, and Toray Cetex thermoplastic composites, known for their strength, toughness, processability, and durability. These materials are engineered to meet stringent aerospace, defense, and advanced mobility qualification and certification requirements, highlighting Toray's dedication to reliability and performance.
Recent additions to Toray's product line include TC1810, an ultra-high temperature polysiloxane-based preceramic resin system. TC1810 offers excellent thermo-mechanical performance and is easy to process at lower temperatures, suitable for applications such as battery containment and thermal protection systems. Another product, 3960-FC, is a fast-cure variant of the 3960 prepreg system, reducing cure time by up to 45% while maintaining mechanical performance. It supports automated manufacturing technologies and offers low exotherm risk for thicker structures.
Toray maintains local manufacturing and supply chains across Europe, the US, Japan, and Korea, supporting domestic sourcing for defense programs worldwide. The company provides carbon fiber and advanced material solutions for various platforms across air, land, sea, and space. Toray's advanced IT systems meet stringent defense industry information control requirements, supporting classified programs from select facilities.
In Europe, Toray is expanding its carbon fiber production capacity to meet the growing demand for standard- and high-modulus carbon fibers in commercial aviation, space, and defense applications. Advanced towpreg materials are also available, supporting next-generation aerostructures through filament winding and automated fiber placement processes.
Through these initiatives, Toray reinforces its commitment to innovation, supply resilience, and the needs of the global aerospace, space, and defense industries.
Toray's locations at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 include hall 1 (booth 1023a) and chalet C329.
