FGR to launch PureGRAPH CEM in China

First Graphene Limited (FGR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Material Technology Co Ltd to distribute its PureGRAPH® CEM additive in China. The agreement designates Sixth Element as the exclusive distributor, contingent on meeting annual purchase targets, and focuses on the cement and concrete sector, the largest in the world.

The MOU outlines that upon the sale of 200 tonnes of PureGRAPH® CEM, the parties will negotiate a joint venture or licensing agreement to manufacture the product in China. This agreement will activate once 500 tonnes are sold, allowing locally manufactured PureGRAPH® CEM to be distributed within China. There is potential to expand this agreement, enabling Sixth Element to sell the product globally.

China's cement and concrete industry, producing over 2.3 billion metric tonnes annually, presents a substantial commercial opportunity for First Graphene. Cement production contributes up to 15% of China's carbon emissions, highlighting the potential role of First Graphene's products in emission reduction efforts.

First Graphene's Managing Director and CEO, Michael Bell, emphasized the significance of this MOU as a major growth opportunity within the company's global strategy. He noted the scale of China's cement industry, which produces significantly more cement than the United States and the UK combined, and expressed optimism about establishing a local manufacturing facility to strengthen their market presence.
