INNANO develops advanced smart coatings to enhance the protection, durability, and performance of materials in sectors such as construction, heritage, marine, energy, and infrastructure. Founded by Dr. Anna Baldycheva, the company builds on her extensive research experience at institutions like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Exeter.

The company's technology is the result of over a decade of research into advanced coating technologies, utilizing graphene as a smart material for engineered interfaces. This research has been funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, with additional support from Innovate UK.

At its new base in Exeter Science Park, INNANO continues to develop graphene-enabled interface nanotechnology aimed at improving material protection, durability, and surface performance. The company's efforts are backed by Innovate UK Business Growth and collaborations with industry partners, focusing on sustainable materials and net-zero goals.
