Lyten chosen as main filament supplier for Modovolo's BFP 3D printing platform

Lyten will supply its PA1205 nylon-based filaments for Modovolo's BFP 3D printing platform, enhancing performance with improved tensile strength and impact resistance over carbon fiber alternatives.

Lyten Incorporated has been selected as the primary filament provider for Modovolo's BFP 3D printing platform, enhancing its capabilities with advanced carbon materials. The BFP platform, designed for high-performance parts in sectors such as aviation, automotive, and industrial machinery, will utilize Lyten's 3D Graphene™ enhanced filaments. These filaments offer a lighter, stronger, and faster printing solution.

Modovolo's drones, manufactured with Lyten's PA1205 ultra-high strength nylon-based filament, demonstrate superior performance compared to carbon fiber-based alternatives. The PA1205 filament excels in X-Y axis tensile strength, Z axis tensile strength, and impact resistance, while also providing improved temperature performance and faster print speeds.

The BFP platform addresses the demand for US-sourced, US-made 3D printers capable of producing large, complex parts for commercial, industrial, and defense applications. Its modular design allows for deployment in challenging environments, maintaining aerospace-grade quality.

Justin Call, CEO and Co-Founder of Modovolo, emphasized the selection of Lyten's filaments for their high-performance characteristics, which are integral to Modovolo's product roadmap. Lyten's PA1205 filament supports the production of stronger, lighter parts with superior print finish and speed.

Dan Cook, CEO and Co-Founder of Lyten, highlighted the company's goal of providing better performing, locally sourced products that enhance supply chain resilience. Lyten's proprietary 3D Graphene technology not only improves 3D printing filaments but also enables customers to innovate in design and manufacturing processes globally.

Modovolo has been using Lyten's filaments since 2025 for its Lift Quadcopter-X drone, designed for commercial, first responder, and defense applications. The companies will showcase the BFP platform at various aerospace and motorsports events throughout the year.

Founded in 2015, Lyten is a leader in lithium-sulfur batteries and advanced 3D Graphene materials, holding over 1,100 patents. Modovolo, based in Upstate New York, focuses on uncrewed aerial systems and Factory-as-a-Service solutions, enabling on-site manufacturing and repair capabilities.
