Talbros Automotive forms JV with Lohum Cleantech for recovered carbon black

Talbros Automotive Components Ltd. has formed a joint venture with Lohum Cleantech Private Limited to focus on the production of recovered carbon black (rCB) and devulcanized rubber. This initiative marks Talbros' entry into the sustainable materials sector, leveraging Lohum's expertise in these technologies.

The joint venture, named Lohum Talbros CarbonTech Private Limited, was formalized on July 2, 2026. Talbros holds a 49% stake, contributing ₹0.0049 crore, while Lohum Cleantech holds 51%, contributing ₹0.0051 crore. The total initial investment in the venture is ₹0.01 crore.

Lohum Talbros CarbonTech will engage in the trading, manufacturing, and refining of rCB and devulcanized rubber. The venture aims to capitalize on the growing demand for sustainable automotive materials and the circular economy. Talbros' established relationships with OEMs and Lohum's specialized technology are expected to drive the venture's success.

Currently, the joint venture is in the setup phase, with business operations yet to commence. Key challenges include the successful start of operations, scaling production, and achieving market acceptance for rCB and devulcanized rubber products.

While specific competitors in the rCB and devulcanized rubber market are not detailed, the broader automotive components sector includes companies such as Bosch, Motherson Sumi, and Minda Industries.
