KVE marks 30th anniversary with composites facility expansion

KVE, a subsidiary of Daher, is expanding its production facility in The Hague, Netherlands, by nearly 1,800 square meters to meet increasing demand for composite blades, wing structures, and other components. This expansion coincides with KVE's 30th anniversary and four years under Daher's ownership.

The facility will focus on thermoplastic composite (TPC) panels, showcasing KVE's expertise in advanced TPC manufacturing technologies for aerospace and defense applications. Founded in 1996, KVE has developed a strong reputation in the design, manufacturing, and repair of high-value composite structures, primarily serving the defense and aerospace sectors.

KVE has become a leader in induction welding for thermoplastic composites, a technology that allows for the assembly of structures without rivets or adhesives, reducing weight, costs, and production times. The company holds approximately 20 patents, with six new innovations in radomes, composite blades, and thermoplastic welding processes secured in the past two years.

Since Daher's acquisition in 2019, KVE's revenue has quadrupled, and its workforce has tripled. This growth is supported by Daher's industrial expertise, certification capabilities, and access to major aerospace and defense players. KVE's EN9100 certification ensures compliance with stringent quality and industrial performance standards.

The new Ypenburg facility, located on the historic site of Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker, will enhance KVE's industrial performance and competitiveness. It will house a dedicated production line for advanced composite components, supporting increased customer production rates.

KVE plans to continue its development as Daher's advanced composites solutions incubator, investing in industrial capabilities and innovation to support future European aerospace and defense programs. This strategic expansion strengthens KVE's position within the Dutch industrial and technology ecosystem.
