OroCarbo orders 12 Haffner systems for renewable hydrogen hubs

OroCarbo has reserved 12 Haffner Energy systems to establish renewable hydrogen hubs across the Western United States. This initiative aligns with the U.S. goal of diversifying its energy portfolio and ensuring a steady supply of renewable energy.

Haffner Energy, with over 33 years of experience, specializes in innovative solutions for producing renewable fuels from biomass. The company has developed proprietary thermolysis and gasification technologies that enable the production of renewable gas, hydrogen, methanol, power, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

OroCarbo focuses on research and development in biofuels, biochar, graphite, and graphene, along with biomass raw materials and processing technologies. The collaboration with Haffner Energy aims to leverage these strengths to meet renewable energy targets.

Haffner Energy's CORE100 program facilitates the deployment of standardized C-iC units, accelerating commercial deployment through standardization and series production. These modular units can be reserved for projects of varying scales.

The planned renewable energy hubs in California, Oregon, and Washington State will convert local biomass into renewable syngas, primarily for hydrogen production and local power generation where grid capacity is limited.

The reservation of 12 C-iC units marks a new phase in the partnership between Haffner Energy and OroCarbo, following their previous collaboration on a biomethanol project in California. Although the biomethanol project is on hold, the partnership has paved the way for further joint ventures.

Brian Wong, Founder and Managing Member of OroCarbo, emphasized the importance of developing local renewable energy hubs to convert residual biomass into clean energy, particularly for hydrogen in mobility and local power generation.
