Verde Resources inks 10-year biochar road deal with Ergon

Verde Resources Inc., through its subsidiary Verde Renewables, has entered into a 10-year Master Commercialization and Collaboration Agreement with Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc. This agreement focuses on the supply of engineered biochar for road paving and infrastructure products, along with managing related carbon removal credits.

Under the agreement, Verde Renewables will serve as a preferred vendor of engineered biochar, while Ergon will develop and market products incorporating this material, beginning with a cold mix road paving product. Commercial projects are anticipated to commence in 2026, with the aim of generating recurring commercial revenue through shared carbon credit proceeds.

Verde Renewables has also amended its Supply Agreement with Biochar Solutions LLC to white-label up to 38,500 U.S. tons of biochar annually. This amendment supports the collaboration with Ergon and includes a joint effort to secure patent protection for a Designer-Blend Char formulation used in Verde’s BioAsphalt.

The collaboration with Ergon positions Verde Resources to integrate its engineered biochar into established asphalt and paving channels, linking its revenue to both material sales and carbon removal credits. This strategy is supported by the supply agreement with Biochar Solutions LLC, which ensures a steady supply of biochar and joint intellectual property development.

The success of this venture will depend on pilot projects, regulatory approvals for biochar-modified pavements, and market adoption. Future company filings may provide further details on volumes, royalty flows, and expansion into international markets, including Singapore.
