Talga Group signs European anode supply agreement with EAS Batteries for Vittangi project

Talga Group Limited has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with EAS Batteries GmbH to supply graphite anode material from its Vittangi project in Sweden. This agreement aims to establish a strategic supply chain for Talga's Talnode anode products, supporting EAS's lithium-ion battery production.

The LOI outlines a framework for product testing and qualification, leading to a proposed five-year supply agreement. The focus is on meeting product specifications, quality standards, and conducting due diligence on supply-chain, human rights, and environmental impacts, including carbon dioxide footprint and ESG metrics.

Both companies are working towards finalizing a binding terms sheet by April 2027, with the goal of executing a definitive Supply Agreement by July 2027. This agreement would potentially position EAS as a long-term customer and expand Talga's presence in the European battery market.

The proposed agreement includes options for extension and a euro-denominated pricing mechanism, with the specific volumes to be supplied still under negotiation. Both parties have also agreed to support each other's project financing efforts during the qualification process.

Talga's CEO, Martin Phillips, emphasized the importance of traceable supply chains in procurement policies, particularly in sectors like defense and aerospace. EAS's general manager, Michael Deutmeyer, highlighted the alignment of Talga's European anode production with EAS's commitment to high-performance battery cells and regional supply security.

EAS Batteries, with over 30 years of experience, specializes in large-format cylindrical cells and battery systems for various demanding sectors. The company is focused on developing an end-to-end lithium-ion cell production capability based on a European supply chain.

A binding supply agreement would ensure long-term access to Talga's anode materials for EAS and its customers, supporting local value creation and supply security. Talga views this potential multi-year offtake as a way to strengthen commercial foundations and access funding opportunities in Germany and the European Union.
